Dec 20, 2013

Year 2013 is about to end and now when we look back, we become nostalgic thinking about the good and not so good things which happened with us in 2013. Recently, Google did the same thing and made us remember the year 2013 with “Google Trend” that can be viewed here.

Google Zeitgeist 2013

The trends of 2013 have been divided into the categories of top trading, people, events, athletes, consumer electronics, Google+ hashtags, movies, TV shows and so on. Some people/event made it to this list because they did something meaningful whereas others are there because the world cannot get enough of them (Pun unintended!).

While late Mr. Nelson Mandela is soaring at the first position on the “people list” as well as “top treading”, the royal baby has also secured seventh position on the “top trading” gradient. It is really interesting to see that brave Ms. Malala Yousafzai is also in the list (rather, has secured third position) and people are getting aware about her movements & the cause which almost killed her in past.

It looks like a lot has happened for Miley Cyrus in this year because she was not only in the news throughout 2013, she has also made it to the list of google trend under the category of people (5th position) and her video of “Wrecking ball” is shining at number 5th position on YouTube video list. If this was surprising for you, wait till you hear this-she also has her hashtag on the 4th position of Google+ hashtag list.

In the Event Category, the bomb blast which happened during the Boston Marathon topped the list. However, it does arouse some of the painful memory but at the end we are waving goodbye to 2013 and all its sorrow memories should go away with it only.

Let us welcome 2014 with smile on our faces and hope in our heart for the best.

“We will open the book. Its pages are blank. We are going to put words on them ourselves. The book is called Opportunity and its first chapter is New Year's Day.” ― Edith Lovejoy Pierce
